Full professional biography of João Vitor Sagan

Sagan is a Brazilian audiovisual producer and film-maker with over 12 years of experience working across complete post-production pipelines. He creates original, cinematic, and immersive works that explore the intersection of art, science, and technology. As the founder of Cinevision Studios, he is recognised for his sensitive yet rigorous approach, combining technical mastery with an artistic vision committed to knowledge and cultural impact.

He began his career in 2012, producing independent experimental films and developing a self-taught foundation in narrative, editing, and imagery construction. Over the years, he has deepened his expertise in high-level post-production technical workflows, migrating from simplified virtual environments to professional pipelines involving Avid Media Composer, DaVinci Resolve Studio, and Nuke, consolidating his mastery of advanced compositing, narrative structuring, and cinematic finishing.

Currently, Sagan leads projects by taking on creative and technical responsibilities throughout the entire post-production workflow. He operates within established industry standards, ensuring technical consistency from the initial edit to the final delivery. His repertoire ranges from experimental short films to science communication productions, always with a keen eye for language, atmosphere, and the poetic construction of the image.

Among his notable works is "Everyday Life – An Ode to Auroras", the first Brazilian short film finished in Dolby Atmos™, produced entirely with a smartphone and broadcast in 4K quality. The film represents a technical and aesthetic milestone, also paying homage to the beauty of natural phenomena and technological innovation, so deeply embedded in Sagan's DNA.

Sagan also led the visual effects department for the series "Black Body Astrophysics", developing complex and realistic compositions to represent astronomical phenomena. His work has attracted interest from cultural institutions, independent filmmakers, and scientific projects seeking a refined audiovisual language conceptually aligned with the natural and human sciences.

Sagan focuses primarily on the editing and structuring of long-form content, including narrative productions for cinema and television, documentaries, video lessons, video podcasts, and immersive content. His focus lies in structural clarity, narrative pacing, and the organisation of complex ideas. He is accustomed to working with standardised technical deliveries, maintaining alignment between narrative intent and technical exhibition requirements.

As the founder of Cinevision Studios, Sagan develops original projects and technical collaborations focused on cinema, documentary, and narrative productions. His recent works include “Everyday Life – An Ode to Auroras” and the 360° VR-Series “Astrophysics of Black Bodies”, alongside projects currently in development such as “Voyage – Between Worlds and Memories” and “Matter”. His future work is focused on consolidating productions that integrate consistent narrative, technical rigour, and cultural relevance, maintaining Cinevision Studios as a hub for audiovisual creation and finishing of an international standard.
